EURO 2012 the team of England will play at Donetsk

The French team will accommodate at Donetsk for Euro 2012. It will use the modern training camp of FC Shaktiar. France England will be the first match. The main city of the region of Donbass on the east of Ukraine, on the russian border is a typical "soviet" city. How to get to Donetsk ?

The international airport of Donetsk is only 8 km to the north of the city centre. Daily flights of Ukraine International Airlines service Kiev and there are also numerous flights per week for the cities of Warsovie, Vienne, Istanbul, Munchen, Moscow or Larnaca.

The bus station offers daily connections with Kharkiv (5h30), Kiev (12h) and Lviv (21h30) Some buses also depart from the railway station.

Numerous trains arrive to the railway station of Donetsk from Kharkiv (5h30) and Kiev (12 h). For the period of Euro there must appear the speed trains in Ukraine.

You can also find the sculptures on the Pushkin boulevard. They trace the history of the Slavic people and its daily life. At Donetsk tourists can also visit the bridge dedicated to the Beatles. The sea of Azov, that separates Ukraine and Russie is less than in 100 km from Donetsk. So getting to the seashore is a part of hobbies for inhabitants and tourists at Donetsk.

Regional Museum of Donetsk

A museum dedicated to Donetsk. 120 000 objects of exposition, from the prehistoric ones to modern. Fossils and remnants of the World War II. It speaks about different ethniс groups or peoples who passed by Donetsk: ukrainians, russians, greeks, tatars... This museum is remarkable for those who are interested in cultures, religions, life habits of the passed centuries.

Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ

This is the cathedral that you won't miss descending the street Artyoma. It is the true architectural masterpiece, and not only the religious centre of Donetsk. The monument dedicated to the Beatles
